Day 4: Tue 12 June 2012 Upper Mintey to Tenbury
After a good rest, showers and a few drinks at the local, we will be all set to crack on with the route. The aim for day 4 is to get from Upper Minety to Tenbury Wells – clocking in at about 74 miles for the route.
We will head out through Kemble towards Birdlip, then into Gloucester via Ermin Street. We will then follow the A40 out of Gloucester, take a right onto the B4215 towards Newant and Dymock, and then right again on the B4216 towards Ledbury. We will then use the A417 to go left around Ledbury, then left again onto the A438, and then after around 700m or so take a right onto a minor road towards the B4214 and Bromyard.
Having exited Bromyard on the B4214 towards Tenbury Wells, we will follow a minor road heading West from Tenbury along the River Teme to Westbrook Park Campsite.
This route will see us undertake a steady climb to Birdlip, followed by a steep descent before levelling out with a few smallish climbs around the 50 mile mark. It is also worth mentioning that there are plenty of good pubs in Tenbury!
